Fall Foliage Niagara Gorge Hike with Randy Barker

Meet at Whirlpool State Park public parking lot at 1:00 pm. Listed as 3.5 mile (All Trails), the Niagara Gorge Rim Trail and Whirlpool Rapids Loop is a moderately challenging hike, with a five hundred step, stone staircase descent. We will enjoy many gorgeous overlooks with spectacular views of the swirling green waters of the mighty Niagara River and stop for snacks and pictures at the whirlpool before our return.

*Conditions and walk up the stairs can be challenging, especially if steps are slippery!

Bring hiking poles, wear sturdy hiking, or trail shoes (no smooth soles), water, snacks, camera. PLEASE check the weather conditions and dress appropriately. Wear a day pack/backpack to carry items. Include layer of warmth and rain gear (if necessary). Participants with balance, breathing difficulties or endurance limitations should not consider this outing. If conditions are not good or if weather is questionable, the hike will be cancelled by 9 am the day of the hike.
