On Sunday October 20th thirteen hikers and two dogs enjoyed a beautiful day on the Conservation Trail in Hunters Creek Park. Many trees were at near peak color and fallen leaves provided a soft cushion to hike on. Numerous bridges made for a dry and pleasant traverse.
I provided some background information on the Conservation Trails’ history and the Foothills Trail Clubs’ maintenance responsibilities.
We were treated to a short discussion of bridge building and repair techniques, by Frank Occhiuto. He has been instrumental in building bridges and maintaining the Conservation Trail, while a member of the Foothills Club.
