ADK members enjoyed ideal weekend hiking weather of high 60 degree temps and sunny skies. On Saturday after camp was set up members stretched their legs with an easy hike to Rocky Falls.
On Sunday two hikes were available. One group went up to Marcy Dam and the other to Hurricane Mountain. August marked the Centennial Celebration of the Hurricane Mountain Fire Tower.
After the fire tower it was lunch and a slice of award winning pie at the Noonmark Diner. Upon heading back to camp a stop was made at an art show at Marcy Field. On Monday another fire tower was notched with a short, steep, strenuous climb up Azure Mountain.
