On August 14th, 2010, I led a group of five people on a hike inside the Beaver Meadow Audoban Nature Preserve. It was a warm day, though slightly less humid than it had been during the previous weeks, and it seemed like everybody enjoyed the outing. We took a route of about 1.5 miles around the perimeter of the preserve, skirting the arboretum but still enjoying the Preserve’s forest but actually finished a bit earlier than the hike’s projected hour and a half. So, the group then hiked around the edge of the Preserve’s beaver pond in search of it’s lodge. We weren’t exactly sure if we had found the lodge, but enjoyed extending the hike in order to view a different part of the Nature Preserve. Our hike finished up at four PM after a start time of two PM. Submitted by Marlene Siefert
