A young member hike for the record books. Starting out at the Refuge Welcome Center, we decided to follow the 4 mi. xcountry skiing loop. The majority of this property being wetlands, paired with decent snow coverage after a couple of mid 30 degree days made the first section of our trek rather sloppy. However, after reaching the property’s edge, a substantial berm gave us great conditions and a sense of relief. We followed the tracks of some very interesting Coyotes as our 4 mi. became 7 after a confusing turn, but we made great strides, returning to the cars in record time!
